Company History
Company founder and General Manager, Gerald Vidmar started CID in 1975 in his parents garage at 16 years old. Building furniture and cabinetry for friends, neighbors, and family, he knew what he would do for the rest of his life and enjoyed every aspect of this business.
Having always been interested in architecture and construction, Jerry quickly found a niche in kitchen and bathroom remodeling, using his handmade, custom-designed cabinets. Within a few years, a new concept of adding valuable living space in the basements of homes began to take off.
CID was poised to be one of the metro areas first basement remodeling companies at the ground level of a brand new industry. The custom cabinetry that Jerry was building quickly became a calling card, and a unique offering for people that were ready to finish their basements or remodel their current living space.
Today, Custom Integrated Designs is still the only basement remodeling company that can offer custom wet bars, entertainment centers, and other custom built-ins directly from its own woodshop.
